New Products Added

Hi everyone! TGIF! Hope you all had a great week, and get to enjoy the weekend! Happy Halloween to you all too! If you take your little ones out, please be safe!

Today I added two new products to the site. You can find the primitive painting in the Primitive Category of the store.

I also added a set of Picket Fence Angel Ornaments to the Winter category of the store. Winter Category
Hope you like them!

There's been a change of plans as to what I was going to make. I've had some custom orders come in so I'm going to be working on some of those. First, A Tissue Cover, A Letter Holder, and the rest of them are winter products. All of them are new products that I hope you will like. Im spending my evenings and weekends painting new ornaments to add to the site, and also take with me to the show in December. Although, this weekend I will also be making my daughters baby shower invitations. I will add a photo of them when finished. Have a good weekend everyone, and be safe!

Custom Order Transformation

One of my customers asked me to paint a primitive painting by Maxine Thomas on a large firkin lid she had. So I took a photo of the lid to show the old painting, and a photo of the lid with the new painting. It looks so much better! I still have to antique this piece, so it will be a little bit darker than this after the antiquing is done. I'm also working on another smaller firkin lid she sent me, and it will have a different primitive painting on it. Both paintings will be added to the site soon as a framed painting, with several different frame color options! When I have posted these to the site, I will update my blog to let you know. You may click on the photos to see the detail in these paintings. The first photo has an old painting on it. The second photo is the new painting I painted on it. The third photo was taken by artist Maxine Thomas. So you can see what this painting would look like framed.

Later today I will post some photos of the new Christmas Ornaments that I made, they're just darling!

"Warm Winter Wishes Sled"

Hi everyone! Hope your week has been going good! I've retaken some photos of my "Warm Winter Wishes Sled" and am posting them here. These photos turned out great! This is one of my favorite pieces. The sled measures 24"T x 10"W x 4"Deep with the runners. It's made of Oak. I've painted a Jamie Mills-Price design on it. It sells for $85.00. You can find this painting in the Winter Category of the store.
I had someone tell me, it looks like a sticker! lol Sorry, but this was all hand painted by yours truely! :) Click on the photos to see all the beautiful colors & detail in this painting.

Tomorrow I will be blogging about a recent custom order that I did. One of my loyal customers sent me a large firkin lid with an older painting on it. I sanded the old one off and painted a newer primitive painting on it. It looks so much nicer. I will be showing you some before and after photos, so check back to see this transformation. Have a good night! ~Jody~

"Bloom Where You Are Planted" - Jamie Mills-Price Design

I made some changes to the store yesterday, as you may have noticed. Rather than having to scroll through page after page to see the products, you can choose a category, and all the products for that category are all on one page. I made these changes in the hopes that it would make it easier to browse the store. If you have any suggestions, they're more than welcome here. I also added the store credits yesterday, for those of you who have them. Please feel free to use them any time you want. Yesterday I promised, another photo of one of my products I painted for a customer. The painting is "Bloom Where You Are Planted" a design by Jamie Mills-Price. It's one of my favorites, and it's also a best seller. You can find this painting in the Country Category of the store. If you click on the photos you will be able to see the detail in this painting.

New Store Features & More

Hi all! Hope your having a fantastic week so far! I have a couple of things to talk about today. The store has some NEW FEATURES that I'm happy to offer you.
  • First, you'll notice on the left side where all the links are, that there is a link called "Your Account". You will now be able to log in and view or modify your own profile-name, address, email, etc. You will also be able to view the details of your orders.
  • Second, you will be able to save your current cart. Once you have saved it, the saved cart can be recalled at any time.
  • Third, your now able to use your store credits at checkout. For those of you who have store credits, I will be adding those shortly, so you can use them, any time you want.
  • Fourth, we also have a "Where did you hear about us" option that you may use or not use, at checkout.
  • Fifth, I have a event calendar link on the bottom left side. This is where you will find out what shows I will be attending & when.

I'm happy to report that I'm all caught up with orders!

New Products Coming Soon!

Besides the ornaments I'm working on at night and the weekends for the upcoming show I'll be attending in December, I'm also working on some custom orders that will be added to the site as well. They include:

3 Maxine Thomas-Primitive Paintings

A Primitive Tissue Cover

A Renee Mullins-Painting

So if your interested in seeing any of those please check back!

I'm also working on my photos for the store. I'm not the best picture taker, but have been practicing retaking photos of paintings that I do, so you can see the detail in my work better. So you may see some better photos of items on my site, and my blog. I have found that showing photos on my blog has been the best way to show the detail in my work. I think it's because I don't have to optimize the photos for the blog, and for the store, I do have to optimize them, and that is causing them to be distorted. So I'm working on that. I will be blogging tomorrow and adding another new photo. See ya soon! ~Jody~

New Product Photos

Hi everyone, hope you all had a nice weekend! :) Over the weekend I worked on some new products, mainly new ornaments that I will be takeing to the show I talked about previously. I will be adding them to the site when their finished, hopefully next week. I will be caught up with all my orders this week, by Tuesday. One of the orders that I had, included the painting "Home Is Where the Heart Is". I've taken the opportunity to take some more photos of this painting because the others I took didn't seem to turn out too well. These ones did turn out good, so I'm inserting a couple of them here, and you can click on them to see the detail in the painting.

Birthday Card

This is my 4th card, and was made for my daughters 21st Birthday, which was October 9th. I didnt follow any particular sketch. I used pink & brown colored card stock, for the layered look. It was stitched together with my sewing machine. For my image, I used a magnolia stamp called "Tilda with Hat". I colored her using copic markers. I'm still learning to shade, and highlight with the copics, but I think it turned out cute. I used my Cricut machine to cut the leaves, numbers & letters. I used my CuttleBug machine to cut out and emboss the large deckled Rectangles that Tilda is sitting on. I distressed the edges of the rectangle with Tim Holtz distressing ink, to age it up a little bit. A Martha Stewart punch was used on the bottom of the flowered paper to spruce it up some. I used a double ended embossed tag attached to some pink and brown ribbon to say "Happy Birthday" and distressed the tag as well. I also attached three brads to the bottom of the card. The inside was also done to match the outside, using the same colored paper and punch. Turns out that my daughter LOVES the card! Heres some photos, enjoy. ~Jody~

Obamas Making Homes Affordable Program

Hi Everyone! I thought that I'd share a bit of important information with you. Alot of you have heard about Obamas Making Home Affordable Program. But do you know where to go to get the help? We didn't! After countless hours researching the internet I finally found it. So I'm sharing it with you.
But, first our story. Recently my husband and I tried to refinance our mortgage but ran into problems because the value of the home dropped $50,000.00 in two years of owning it. Our loan was an ARM and the montly payment was set to increase in August of this year by several hundred dollars. We knew we couldnt pay the increased amount, so we opted to call our lender. We explained our situation and the circumstances to them, filled out a couple forms they sent, and they did a loan modification with us. Yes, it was that easy!!! We have a much more affordable loan with a fixed rate, & low interest rate. I've recently heard that over 85,000 people who are eligible for the program aren't using it. I figure it's because people don't know where to go to get the process started. That is why I'm posting this today.

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS:
President Obama recently announced a broad national strategy aimed at helping homeowners to restructure or refinance their mortgage loans to prevent foreclosures. The Administration’s comprehensive plan is known as the Making Home Affordable Program.
The Making Home Affordable Program consists of two separate components:
The Home Affordable Modification Program assists homeowners already behind on their mortgage payments, as well as those anticipating financial difficulty.
The Home Affordable Refinance Program enables eligible homeowners to take advantage of today’s low interest rates — even if the outstanding mortgage balance is greater than the value of the home.
Self-Assessment Tools
The official U.S. Treasury site contains a self-assessment tool designed to see if you are among the 7 to 9 million homeowners who may benefit from the refinance or modification programs available through this government program. You can also download a borrower Q&A there. We encourage you to use the resources from the Making Home Affordable Program.

I hope that you will take advantage of this, because they aren't going to be offering it for long, by what I'm hearing. So if you think you might be eligible, go to the website and use the Assesment Tool to see if you qualify! http://www.makinghomeaffordable.gov/
Have a Nice Day & thanks for stopping by for a visit!~Jody~

Orders

Hi Everyone! Hope you all are having a fantastic week so far! I can not believe it's October already! Can you believe how time is flying by? I can't! Before you know it, it's going to be Christmas! I'm still working on filling orders, so I have nothing new to offer you at this time. This is the busiest time of year for me. I was hopeing to add some new Fall & Winter items this year, and I still may, we'll just have to see how busy I am. I still plan on adding the new Terrye French, Renee' Mullins, & Maxine Thomas designs that I posted on the marquee. Hopefully you'll all be patient! :) This week I'm working on finishing the "Home Is Where The Heart Is" Painting. This is the largest painting I offer, and there is alot of detail work that needs to be done on this one. This coming weekend, I'm going to have a new Greeting Card to post to the blog. I made it last weekend for my daughter who is turning 21! this friday. I can't wait to post it, it turned out sooooooooooo cute! It was done in Pink & Browns (her favorite colors) and I used a Magnolia Stamp for the image. I can't post it yet cause I don't want to spoil it for her. So if your interested in seeing it, please check back. I will post several photos of it. Have a great week everyone & thanks for stopping by! ~Jody~
