Whats Coming Next

Happy Friday Blogging Friends!  Hope you all had a good week!  I thought I'd pop in here and let you know what I've been up to this week and what's coming up next.  This week I worked on a custom order for a gal in New York.  She wanted a customized Primitive Mail Holder.  I will add it to the blog and site tomorrow.  I'm working on several things right now.  Two are custom orders. The others are products that I mentioned I would make for 2010.  I've been adding alot of new primitive products to my site every weekend.  If you haven't been there in a while you may want to stop by and take a peak to see what new additions I've added.  And I'm going to be adding new additions every weekend for while, so keep checking back if your interested in primitives.  Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! ~Jody~

Two New Products Added

Well that weekend went by fast!  Geez!  Time goes by too fast anymore.  I hope you all had a good weekend!  I took care of my wifely duty's, and got to visit with my daughter and grandbaby.
I finished the Maxine Thomas painting I spoke about in an earlier blog. "School House Friends". This was actually a request for a customer in Maine.  She's going to attach this painting to the top of a childs old school desk.  Isn't that a great idea!  Im offering this as a framed painting on my website.  You can choose what color frame you would like to have.

A customer in Canada asked me to paint her this sign.  It turned out pretty nice.  I first painted it black, sanded the edges and the front to make it look old, and the lettering is all handpainted.

I already started another new project today.  I'm painting a Terrye French design onto a banner.  I will add it to the site when finished.  Have a good week!~Jody~

The Latest News

Hello everyone! TGIF!  Hope you all had a good week and are looking forward to the weekend!  I have alot of exciting news today, so bear with me, I'll try to keep it short. I will be adding a new Maxine Thomas painting to the site in the next day or so. So stay tuned for that.

First, our grandaughter doesn't have to have open heart surgery!  We are soooooo glad and releaved!  The cardiologist said as long as she's gaining weight she's ok, and boy is she ever.  She gained a whole pound this week already, lol.  And she's as content as can be.

Second, I got some really good news yesterday about an L&I claim I had in 2003, (which I had forgot about).  I'm going to be able to buy me a really nice camera now, which I've needed for many years.  So, that means that the photos on my wesite, blogs and groups I belong to will have much better photos of my products!  YEAH!!!  If you only knew how frustrated I've been with the darn camera I've been using since starting this business in 2003, you'd understand my excitment.  The detail in my work is going to show up a whole lot better now!  So I look forward to providing you with much better photos!

Third, I'm excited to tell you that I've been accepted into the group "Old Farmhouse Gathering Team", and also the Primitive Peddler Cafe group!  I'm very excited about this, because I've been following a few of these gals for quit some time, and wanted to be in their group.  I've met some nice gals and am making lots of new friends.   I'm in the process of trying to figure out how to put both those companys banners on my blog, so you can find them.  The "Old Farmhouse Gathering Team" has lots of members.  There is a large number of them selling items on http://www.etsy.com/ When you go there type in OFG in the search box, and all the items from every member will come up for you see.  I'm there too.  I'm selling most of my (One Of A Kinds) there.  My store name is (adorablecc), or you can find me by typing ofg in the search box.

Fourth, I'm happy to annouce that I'm going to be selling VHC (Victorian Heart Company) products on my website.  I will be offering Kitchen Accessories, Curtins, &  Bedding.  I'd like to carry a large variety of their products, so it gives you more options to choose from.  Their products are very nice very nice!

And last but not least.  I went to one of the antiques store in town today.  I found some really neat items to paint and sell.  Here's a photo of all of the things I found.  If your interested in having me paint any of these items for you, let me know what you'd like, and what kind of painting you want on it.   If not, I will eventually get to them! lol  Here's the photos.  Have a good weekend!!!  ~Jody~

Custom Order Transformation

One of my customers asked me to paint a primitive painting by Maxine Thomas on a large firkin lid she had. So I took a photo of the lid to show the old painting, and a photo of the lid with the new painting. It looks so much better! I still have to antique this piece, so it will be a little bit darker than this after the antiquing is done. I'm also working on another smaller firkin lid she sent me, and it will have a different primitive painting on it. Both paintings will be added to the site soon as a framed painting, with several different frame color options! When I have posted these to the site, I will update my blog to let you know. You may click on the photos to see the detail in these paintings. The first photo has an old painting on it. The second photo is the new painting I painted on it. The third photo was taken by artist Maxine Thomas. So you can see what this painting would look like framed.

Later today I will post some photos of the new Christmas Ornaments that I made, they're just darling!

New Store Features & More

Hi all! Hope your having a fantastic week so far! I have a couple of things to talk about today. The store has some NEW FEATURES that I'm happy to offer you.
  • First, you'll notice on the left side where all the links are, that there is a link called "Your Account". You will now be able to log in and view or modify your own profile-name, address, email, etc. You will also be able to view the details of your orders.
  • Second, you will be able to save your current cart. Once you have saved it, the saved cart can be recalled at any time.
  • Third, your now able to use your store credits at checkout. For those of you who have store credits, I will be adding those shortly, so you can use them, any time you want.
  • Fourth, we also have a "Where did you hear about us" option that you may use or not use, at checkout.
  • Fifth, I have a event calendar link on the bottom left side. This is where you will find out what shows I will be attending & when.

I'm happy to report that I'm all caught up with orders!

New Products Coming Soon!

Besides the ornaments I'm working on at night and the weekends for the upcoming show I'll be attending in December, I'm also working on some custom orders that will be added to the site as well. They include:

3 Maxine Thomas-Primitive Paintings

A Primitive Tissue Cover

A Renee Mullins-Painting

So if your interested in seeing any of those please check back!

I'm also working on my photos for the store. I'm not the best picture taker, but have been practicing retaking photos of paintings that I do, so you can see the detail in my work better. So you may see some better photos of items on my site, and my blog. I have found that showing photos on my blog has been the best way to show the detail in my work. I think it's because I don't have to optimize the photos for the blog, and for the store, I do have to optimize them, and that is causing them to be distorted. So I'm working on that. I will be blogging tomorrow and adding another new photo. See ya soon! ~Jody~
