Birdhouse Toilet Paper Holder in Sunflowers & Blue Birds.

This was a custom order I did for a customer this last Christmas. I had alot of fun designing and painting this piece for her! Thank you Patricia! I painted the background in white so the design would stand out. The top piece has a painted hole and branch. The design in painted on all four sides. I think it turned out pretty nice!

I will have another post next week, on a couple of new winter designs, that I painted last year and wasn't able to add them at that time.

Brenda & Angie, thank you for your comments on my last post! I'm bound and determined to get the problem fixed this weekend! Hi All! How has everyone been? Boy have I been missing in action! Had to go see when I posted last. I hope you all had wonderful holidays! Today I have some recent pictures of our granddaughters. Little Boo Boo (Brailynn) is now 2! I can hardly believe she's two already! She's getting so big, and does alot of talking. She likes to paint when she comes to visit us (go figure, taking after Grandma) so for Christmas we got her a little art table with stools and paints of course. She loves it! She also likes to play mommy with her sister so we also got her a baby alive doll to save her mother! lol Here's Brailynn Christmas day.

This is Maddy (I call her sissy, got that from Brailynn, cause that's what she calls her) on Christmas day. Maddy is 5 months old, growing like a weed, she's laughing and holding her bottle now. They both are just so cute!

I've been reading all your blogs, but I can't comment. Here's the problem. When I got my new phone I signed up for a gmail account so I could receive my emails while I was away. Well when I did that it did something to my google account and it won't let me make comments on others blogs. I've tried to fix it and haven't been able to. If any of you know how to fix the problem, would you please tell me so I can make comments on your blog. I really enjoy blog hopping and love talking to you all! Thank you! I've taken a couple weeks off from painting, I really needed to recharge my batteries! I will be back painting starting this coming Monday the 9th. I will be posting regular again, now that the holidays are over. I have a few projects that I finished before Christmas that haven't been shown or added to the website, so those will be posted soon. Happenings Here At Adorable Country Classics

Hello everyone! Wow what a month it has been! I don't know about you, but I've been so busy, and where did the time go? My last post was about participating in a large craft show in Silverdale, WA. Well I didn't sell out, but did well. The show was amazing and alot of fun! There were so many very crafty people there with unbelievable, fantastic products. I saw lots of stuff I wanted. Then we went right into Thanksgiving! We had Thanksgiving here at our home. It was nice to take some time off and visit with family members. After Thanksgiving I started painting orders for customers for Christmas gifts. Today I'm finishing up my last painted project for the year. I will post about the new product at a later time with photos. In the upcoming new year I'm going to have an announcement to make. If your into primitives, your going to love what I'm going to announce! I'm very excited about this new venture, and can't wait to tell you all about it! I hope all is well with you my friends! I've been reading your posts and see that you all have been very busy and creative! I hope you all have a wonderful, blessed holiday season!

I'm Ready For My First Large Craft Show!!! - Holiday Gift & Food Fair

Hi all! I know I haven't posted in a while, I can't even begin to tell you how busy I've been!! I've been painting day and night literally for the last two months, so I can participate in the Holiday Gift & Food Fair. http://www.holidaygiftfair.com/ Located in Silverdale, WA at the Kitsap Sun Pavillion this Fri, Sat, and Sunday. The link provides directions to the show. This show has 170 vendors participating, and only handmade items are allowed into the show. This is a juried show. I'm very excited and nervous to attend this show. Excited because this is the largest show I've ever attended. The last two shows I participated were very small and just wasn't the right fit for what I offer. The couple that puts this show on makes it all look very nice and professional looking. Why am I nervous? hmmmmm I'm not sure about that. I think it's more anxiety than it is nervousness. Here's a photo of a past show, so you can get an idea of what it looks like there. Doesn't this look like lots of fun? I checked it out last year went and took the day to see what people were selling/making, how they set it up and so forth, and I love it, that's why I made the decision to attend.

I will post pics of my booth here next week.

Primitive Santa Butter Churn Cookie Jar ~ Terrye French

I have finished another new painting! This new ceramic butter churn was made by me. I've painted it buttermilk over black with some areas that have been sanded to give it that time worn look. I've painted a prim Santa on the front, with a black crow that has red berries in his mouth. The lid has been painted with twiggy vines, leaves and berries. I've attached some red pip berries, a grubby tag that reads "Happy Holidays" with a rusty snowflake attached to it, and a tea dyed muslin homespun to the handle. Measures 11 inches tall x 21 inches in diameter. This piece looks very old. The outside has been sprayed with several coats of ceramic sealer. The inside is glazed and is lead free and food safe. Snowman Snow Globe ~ "Catch A Falling Snowflake Put It In Your Pocket" ~ Terrye French

This is my newest creation, that I finished today. I've painted a Terrye French snowman catching falling snowflakes and putting them in his pocket, on this wooden snow globe that we've designed. He has a rabbit below him, and a blue bird sitting on a handle of a shovel with a branch full of berries in his mouth. The wording reads "Catch A Falling Snowflake" "Put It In Your Pocket". The back of the snow globe is painted in the same manner as the front, but without the snowman. Over all dimensions are 10 3/4 inches tall x 7 inches in diameter. The rectangular base measures 6 1/4 inches long x 3 1/2 inches wide x 3 1/4 inches thick. The globe is attached to the base with a screw. He comes fully assembled. He's $38.95 + 12.99 Shipping.

What I like about painting the most is taking a design and making my own little creation with it. I also love creating something that no one else has created. I'm already working on another painting it's another Terrye French design.
I did some blog hopping last night, and visited a bunch of blogs to see what everyone has been up too. I must say everyone has been so busy creating all types of items for either craft shows, their stores, or to give as gifts for Christmas.You wouldn't believe all the wonderful items everyone is making.

Annabelle - Butterchurn Cookie Jar ~ Primitive~Terrye French~

I can't believe it's been almost a month since I posted last. Time sure does fly when your busy! This is my newest hand painted piece. I painted this design on a ceramic butter churn that I made myself. The design is by Terrye French. It was painted Slate Gray over dark chocolate, which looks more like light blue. I've sanded this piece to give it that time worn look. I've attached a tea dyed homespun to the handle, and painted a grubby tag with the words "Primitive Blessings". It's attached by rusty wire. I've been so busy! It's a crazy time of year for us here. I'm attending a craft show in November and am working on painting lots of new items for the show. I will be adding them here and to the site as I finish them. I have another new painting which I hope will be finished tomorrow. Another Terrye French design, this one is for winter time.

We also redesigned the website to give it a much more stylish look, and to make it easier to find the products our customers are looking for. I love the new design, and we hope you like it too! And I also did the redesigning of our blog so it matches the website. So, now you can see why I've been so busy. I haven't been able to do any blog hopping in a long time, :( . I hope to do some this weekend so I can catch up with all my friends!

Hand Painted, Two Sided, Fireplace Screen

Hello Friends! Most of you have already seen this on Facebook, but when I posted it, I realized I left something off of it, and it wasn't assembled, so that's why I'm re posting it. Yesterday on my blog I promised to show you the painting that I've been working on in between hand painted orders off of my website. This is a custom order that I did for a sweet lady in Canada. Thank you Traci for having me paint this for you! I hope you enjoy displaying this in your home! Traci isn't going to use this as a Fireplace Screen. She is putting it under a sofa table to hide cords behind it. Clever lady! This took quite a while to design and paint mostly because of the colors that were used. I didn't have a pattern to use just a photo. The first side can be used everyday, and was based off a Kim Klassen design.

The second side will be used during the winter months, and was based off of a Lynn Andrews design.

I'm not going to be offering this Fireplace Screen on my website, due to the time it takes to complete it. If your really interested in having it, you can contact me. Today I started painting a Sewing Basket lid. It should only take me a day or two to complete it. I will show you that when I get it done as well. I hope you all are having a wonderful day! ~Jody~

Our New Grand Baby - Madilynn Ann Suzuki

Hello Friends! I know I've been missing in action for a while, but I have a really good excuse, I promise! We have a new addition to our family! Madilynn Ann Suzuki was born on August 13th! She is a healthy adorable little girl. She came early, but we all are very happy she is here. I've been gone for a bit staying with my daughter, helping her around the house with the new baby and our other granddaughter Brailynn. My daughter had to have an emergency C section which was unexpected. But, everything went fine, both momma and baby are ok. We are so blessed, and are so happy that both my daughter and baby came out of the situation well! Naomie, you have the cutest, sweetest little girls! Cherish every moment with them! Time goes by so fast! Here are some photos of Maddy, our newest grand baby.

My First Set of Fired Ceramics

Hello everyone, how are you all? I did some blog hopping the other night and many of you are creating some very wonderful items, and are very busy! Don't a just love crafting! It's so much fun! I know I promised a photo of my ceramics a couple days ago, and I forgot to post it. For those of you that didn't know, I fired my first set of ceramics last weekend, and I'm so excited that everything turned out great, and that I didn't blow up our house! lol I'm so looking forward to painting these and making more. Here's the photo of my new Bisque! It includes 3 Grease Pots, 2 Butter Churns, 1 Utensil Holder, 2 Salt & Pepper Sets, and 2 Spoon Rests.

Now on to more exciting news! I received a phone call this week from a lovely lady in Pennsylvania who had seen some of my work from a friend of hers, and she has asked me to make her a set of dishes (service for 6) and the design she would like me to paint on them is Birdhouses. She will be giving this set to a friend for Christmas. It was a big surprise, and I'm very excited, and can't wait to get busy making the ceramics, and painting them. But first I have to finish the custom orders in front of hers.
I'm going to be adding more products to our website this weekend. I hope you'll stop by for a visit. The weather here hasn't been too bad here (mid 70's- mid 80's), compared to whats going on back east. I feel for all of you that are having to put up with hot temperatures. New Paintings Coming Soon!

I've been so busy painting custom orders and orders from my website that I haven't been able to create anything new in a very long time. I'm not complaining by any means. As a matter of fact I appreciate the work, very much so. So inlight of that, I decided that I'm going to start painting on weekends for a while so I can produce some new paintings. (I have tons of ideas). I know many of you follow my blog just to see what new paintings I create. And, I know many of you have requested to see more Terrye French stuff, so that's what I worked on yesterday. I also have a three day show I'm attending in November, and I have to create stuff for that too so looks like weekend work for a while. Yesterday I finally fired my first set of greenware which included 2 Butter Churns, 2 Grease Pots, 2 Spoon Rests, 2 Salt & Pepper Shaker Sets, and 1 Utensil Holder. Everything turned out great! Getting Old Is For The Birds!

And eating all this fiber is too! For the last 6 years I've had troubles with my stomach. There are days when I was just plain miserable. Tired of all the problems I went to see a digestive Dr. he gave me a upper and lower GI, and a colonoscopy, and they found nothing. He prescribed 1 tall glass of prune juice every day. (YEAH)! Have you ever drank that stuff? Yuck! Well all that did was make it worse, it caused my tummy to swell so much I looked 9 months pregnant! It was also very painful. I also gained weight 44 Lbs to be exact from all the damn sugar in the prune juice! I also was very tired. So because I didn't get any help from the GI Dr. I made a trip into my regular Dr. and she prescribed exercise and to change my diet. Tired of feeling like crap for the last 6 years I decided it was time to do what she requested. First I changed our diet. I liked sweets and very little fruit and veggies. We no longer eat any processed foods at all. I eat lots of fruit and veggies. I've cut down on the sweets I eat to a bare minimum. The dinners I cook are all the recipes in Bob Greenes "Best Life Diet" book. Nothing but healthy dishes, and they taste good too! I always thought eating healthy was expensive. It's not. If you quit buying all the goodies you can afford the fruit and veggies! I also started walking. Every morning I get up at 5am and walk 1 1/2 miles, and at a pretty steady pace with my dog groomer/friend Francis and 6 Westie pups! I've been walking every morning now for almost 2 months. I had my first weigh in on the 9th of July and I lost 7 Lbs! I'm pretty excited about that. I'm usually a small person about a size 7. Now, I'm not a morning person at all! I hate mornings!!! My mornings; I get up and have a cup of coffee watch the news and have no one talk to me for at least an hour so I can wake up, otherwise I'm a grump! lol. So, the 5am thing was very hard for me to do at first. I had to make myself get up! It took alot to get me out of that bed so early! I also started doing some research on the internet for the problem I was having. I made a trip to GNC to try testing some different things that would make me feel better. Well I should of known better, to take anything pill form, would make the problem worse. So I quit the natural pills, did more research and decided to try one more thing, Flaxseed Oil and ground Flaxseed. I've been taking the Flaxseed Oil for about 3 weeks now, but noticed a difference in my stomach the first day I took it. I introduced the Flaxseed two weeks after the oil and in little amounts and am working my way up to the requested dosage. I'm finally starting to feel better, have alot more energy, and my stomach doesn't hurt anymore! Now, if I could stop the gray hair, and fix my memory that would be great! Did you know when you get older it takes twice as long to look half as good? I just had to throw that in there!

My First Set of Ceramics & Tons of New Products!

I hope you all had a wonderful and safe Fourth of July! We really didn't do too much as my husband had to work, so I did too. I poured my first set of ceramics over the weekend. It was trial and error learning this. It took me three pours to get my first set of Salt & Pepper Shakers. After that everything else went very well for my first pour! My husband even got involved and poured something. He loves making things, it doesn't matter what kind of craft it is, he's in. You'd never know by looking at him that he loves crafts. Here's a couple photos. The first photo is my husband pouring a Butter Churn. The next one is the greenware with a little cleanup done to them. There is still some fine tuning to be done to all the pieces, and then of course painting and glazing them. What we poured was set of Salt & Pepper Shakers, Butter Churn, Spoon Rest, 2 Grease Pots, and a Utensil Holder.

Over the weekend, I added alot of new product to the website. They include Berkshire Textiles, Braided Rugs, and Braided Baskets by Victorian Heart Co. I fired my first Ceramic & New Products

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend what ever your activities were! Over the weekend, I did two things. First I added many new items to the website; Mason Jar Wax Warmers, Primitive Paper Towel Holder hand painted by me, and some other miscellaneous items. I also made a trip to a Ceramic shop to gather up supplies that I need to be able to make my own Ceramics. (I still need to purchase some molds). Sunday I was finally able to play with my Kiln for the first time, and it was so much fun! I fired my first Ceramic. I had an Oil Decanter that was already made and glazed on the inside (by someone else). While I was at the Ceramic shop I picked up a crackle glaze to play with, because most of my paintings are done in a crackle manner, and I wanted to see the outcome of this particular medium. This glaze is already pigmented as a Mocha and has the crackle medium already in it. All I had to do was brush it on my Oil Decanter, wait for it to dry and then fire it. Well the firing didn't go as planned because my Kiln doesn't have a temperature gauge and we didn't have any idea as to what the temperature was in there. We definitely need to purchase a Pyrometer. So basically it was just a test to see how things worked. Here's a couple of photos of my first piece. I just love how it looks. The second photo really shows the crackled surface.

Primitive Canisters - Personalized

Hello Friends! I know it's been a while since I posted, sorry about that, I've been busy painting orders. Today I wanted to show you another version of the Primitive Canister Sets that I make. These are made of wood. These were made for a customer in Indiana, thank you Rachel! She purchased a set of three but did some designing of her own. She kept the primitive scene that I usually put on the front and ends, but changed up the wording to "Faith, Family, Friends". Other wording is available such as ("Live Well", "Laugh Often", "Live Simply"), ("Flour", "Sugar", "Coffee"), or any words of your choice could be added. On the ends she decided to have stars on the ends instead of the vines, leafs and red pip berries that I usually put on them.

These are also available as a set of four. This is just a sample of what can be done with these. We have a customize by you box located at the bottom of most of our products, that gives you the opportunity to design these how you would like them painted for no extra charge. Just type in the box how you would like them painted when ordering, and I will contact you so we can discuss it. There is no job to big or to small, simply design them how you want them.

Here's two photos of the Primitive Ceramic Canisters I make. These Primitive Ceramic Canisters can be customized as well. They're available as a set of four as well. There are alot of different ways that both sets can be painted. I have tons of ideas for these, I just haven't gotten to the new designs yet. I purchased a Kiln!

last week. When I started painting Ceramics months ago, I never thought I'd be purchasing a Kiln of my own. I've been purchasing all the ceramics that I paint from a very nice lady in Oklahoma. She does beautiful work! I've been painting so many ceramics, that my husband and I decided it was time to purchase our own kiln. I started looking for a Kiln a week ago, and I wasn't planning on finding one so soon, but I did. I purchased the Kiln from a lady in my hometown. She took very good care of it, it's in great condition, and it was a great deal!
I've been spending my evenings on the Internet learning everything I can about this craft. It's been really interesting. I'm going to be making all the ceramics I've painted so far, with some additional products. The additional products will be functional products, products that you can use in your kitchen. I will be adding these new items when I'm not stacked up on painting orders. This week I worked on a set of Salt & Pepper Shakers, a new Primitive Paper Towel Holder (that will be added to my website really soon), and have started a set of Primitive Canisters, all for one customer. I've been really busy since April with tons of orders for my hand painted items.

Hello my friends! How are you? I hope you all are safe and sound from the tornadoes, and flooding! I hope you all had a wonderful Mothers Day also! I know it's been a while since I posted, sorry about that it's been one hectic spring on the home front. I have lots to talk about today, have to play catch up! We've lived in our home for about 4 or 5 years without a pretty front yard. A couple of weekends ago we finally put one in. (I got tired of looking at it!) We had the grass but no flower beds or flowers at all. So we put one in and decorated the front of the house. I hated how it looked before it was so boring and awful looking. I LOVE how it looks now, but were not done yet! I'll show you more of the front yard, once we get some more work done.

Mothers day weekend my husband and I put our upper kitchen cabinets up. We chose to buy them unfinished just like we did the lowers, so we could finish them ourselves. I haven't gotten to finishing the uppers yet, hopefully I can work on them this week. I've been wanting them done for a long, long time. The bottom cabinets have been in for about a year. When it came to getting the upper cabinets in there was always something holding us up. But, finally they are in, and no one is able to see my dishes or the food in my cupboards for the first time in years! :) And I am VERY excited about that! I will show you some before and after once these are done. Next I think we're redoing our hardwood floors, and the whole house is hardwood. (That will be alot of work)! We will be sanding them down and staining them, then add the gloss. The color we chose is red mahogany. It's going to be beautiful. Right now the floors look awful! I can mop them, and they still look dirty. Yuck! Can't wait to get the floor done.
This last Saturday we spent the day with our grandson celebrating his 10th Birthday. We had so much fun with the grand kids. Momma went and purchased a trampoline for the kids. Have any of you played on one of those? They are a blast! I had never been on one until Saturday. I got on with our granddaughter Brailynn for her first time too, and we had so much fun. She instantly started jumping up and down like she knew exactly what to do, it was sooooooo cute. I took some pics of her jumping on it, and playing with Grandpa (my husband). Here's some photos. If you look closely you can see she has her fist doubled up and hunched over getting ready to make her first jump.

Now for the business side of things. I have been very busy filling orders for my hand painted primitive decor. I never imagined that I would ever be this busy painting products for people to display in their home. Thank you everyone who has ordered from me, and for sending me lovely comments to my email! I am flattered! I've been painting Primitive Canisters, Bread Boxes, Utensil Holders, and Salt & Pepper Shakers.

New Painting Product

Happy Tuesday eveyone! Hope this finds you happy and well! Today I wanted to show you one completed side of the Fireplace Screen that I've been working on in between painting orders from my website. This Fireplace Screen is going to be two sided. One side has been painted with an everyday design based off of a Kim Klassen design. The other side is going to be painted with a winter scene. I don't have it hinged together yet, because I can only have one piece on my painting table at one time. So the hinges will go on after it's been completed. Here's the photo.

This week I'm extremely busy painting. I have three Breadboxes & a set of my Ceramic Primitive Kitchen Canisters to paint. I'm trying to get some Spring & Americana paintings done but, those won't be worked on until my orders are finished. Anyways you all have a great week! ~Jody~

New Photos of our Granddaughter Brailynn

I haven't posted any photos of our Granddaughter Brailynn in a long time, and thought I'd share some with you. Brailynn is now 14 months old. She has most of her teeth in. Talking in complete sentences already. She loves music, dancing, Momma, and food! lol She doesn't like wearing clothes or shoes! She prefers to run around the house in her diaper most of the time. She has the sweetest, most outgoing personality that just makes you want to kiss and hug her. She's so loved by our family, and she's a true blessing to all of us. Words can't describe how much I love her! Grandma loves you Boo Bear! Here's some photos of our little angel.

East Coast Weather

I know you all are experiencing crazy winter weather back east! The news up here where I'm at is showing all the states effected by the weather. I just wanted to tell you all to be safe and warm! You all are in my thoughts! If you don't have to go out in it, DON'T! Our weather up here in Washington State is mild. I woke up to frost on the ground, but we had a sun shiny day. I was hoping for snow this year but, we only got an inch or so months ago, and I don't think we're going to get any of the white stuff!

Happy New Year all my blogging friends! I hope you all are ready for the new year!

I'm going to catch you up on what's been going on with us, so bear with me, it may be a long post, but will try and keep it as short as I can. We spent Thanksgiving at home with our children & their families. I cooked a feast as usual. It was our first Thanksgiving with our Grandaughter Brailynn. She loved Thanksgiving dinner, and the proof is in the photo, just look at that belly! Brailynn (Boo Bear) also turned one in December! Yup, I nick named her Boo Bear, Boo for short.

In December I attended a craft show here in my town Port Orchard, WA. The show went well, better than expected. Most popular were my Chenille Snowmen. Thank you everyone who attended the show! It was so nice to meet some of my neighbors!

Then there was Christmas. Christmas was so fun! This year was especially special for us, we got to shop for our first grandchild. I can't even begin to tell you how much fun it was to watch her open her presents. She had already opened the ones from Santa, and her other relatives, so by the time they arrived at our place Christmas night Brailynn knew exactly what to do. It was amazing watching the expressions on her face, every time she tore off a little piece of paper. She got the biggest grin and laughed at every tear. I'm already excited to see what she's going to do next time! And, I just found out yesterday from my daughter, that we're expecting another grandchild sometime around August! I'm tickled & excited. I LOVE LOVE LOVE being a grandma! I just wonder, is it going to be a girl or a boy?

The year 2010 turned out to be the best & the busiest year for our Company. We worked right up until the very end to get our products out to our customer just in time for the holidays. Thank you to all my loyal customers for your patronage! Your loyalty & trust in my paintings/products are appreciated more than words can say. THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH!!! 2011 is already busy. I've been working on custom orders, with more on the way! Some will be added to the website of course, and here as well. I have a ton of new products in mind for the website this year. Lots & lots of new high quality products, that I think you will love! There is going to be so many new products, I can't even begin to make the list. But, you won't be dissapointed. This year I may be attending another show the weekend before Thanksgiving. I'm waiting to hear on that as of now, but should know by the end of January. And if I get accepted into the show, I will be making tons of new Christmas products too! We look forward to this new year, meeting new customers, and working with our current customers. Anyway, it feels so good to be back blogging again, I have missed all my blogging friends! I hope you all are doing well, and I will be back visiting your blogs again!

1. What is the name of your Etsy shop and why did you choose that name?
My Etsy shops name is CatsDesigns and I chose it because those are the initials in my name and at the time I couldn't think of anything else.

2. How long have you been on Etsy?

I joined Etsy in March of 2008.

3. What type of items do you offer?

I offer Prim and Folkart decorations for your home, dolls, handbags and jewelry.

4. How long have you been crafting?

It seems like I've been crafting all my life. When I was younger we didn't have a television until I was 10 years old, so I use to design dresses for my dolls out of old clothes.

5. Who or What inspires you?
God inspires me the most by allowing me to do what I love to do. Also the many pattern designers who come up with these fabulous designs. Right now I am most inspired by artists like Terrye French, Renee Mullins and Jamie Mills Price. My favorite doll designers are Maureen at Sweet Meadows Farm and Kat from Kats Country Prims.

6. What is your favorite item in your shop and why?
It's hard to pick just one item it changes with what I'm doing at the time. I love painting and sewing for the seasons.

My Art Room

Hello all my blogging friends! I can't believe the week is almost over all ready, can you? Geeze time seems to be flying by for me. It was suggested that I give you a tour of where I work, so I thought I would share some photos of my art room. We've actually turned one of our bedrooms in our home into a "Do It All Room! And I literally mean that! My office, painting area, scrapbooking area, sewing, shipping and inventory are all in one room! So here it is.

My sewing machines are pulled out as needed, and that isn't very often, for now. The inventory is on the right, (the glass doors) a double door closet that is full to the brim with items to paint! As you can see I'm a very organized gal, it helps with production if I have everything I need in one room. Ok, now onto the stuff I'm making. Primitive Ornaments - Terrye French & My Designs

Ok, so I know this is my second post for the day, but remember I said I was going to blog about the new ornaments I've been making. So here they are. The first set is a Terrye French design. Here is another set that I designed, these were fun to make too! They were painted crackled white over black, painted to look old. They have a willow tree & the word "Simplify" painted on both sides. Each has rusty wire legs, and a rusty bell hanging off their neck, and hang from tea dyed red plaid ticking. Both sets of ornaments are available as singles, or sets!

Hand Painted Snowman

Happy Wednesday everyone! "Meet Snow Bright". I painted this Snowman, a Renee Mullins design, in Buttermilk, and then decided he needed to be lightened up, so I textured him in white, so he actually looks like a snowman. Snow Bright has an attached wood nose, and arm. He's wearing a green vest adorned with snowflakes, and a blue scarf. He has a Saltbox house with trees and stars on the lower half of him. The back of him is painted in solid matching colors. What is nice about him, is that you can have him with different options at no additional charge. Options are: Have him painted plain with no scene. With the scene, and with or without snowtex, battery operated tealight or regular tealight, as you can see from the photos below he looks different in each one. He's holding a miniture black metal lantern in each photo, with glass sides & handle, that holds a battery operated tealight, or a regular tealight candle. He comes assembled to the base and ready to use. He measures 29" Tall x 18" Wide from tip of arm to edge of scarf x 1" Thick. The base he is attached to is painted white and shaded to match him. He has a brace in the back that he is screwed to so he stands firmly. 1. What is the name of your Etsy shop and why did you choose that name?

‘Heartstrokes ’ came about because I was an Intensive Care Cardiac nurse and was learning to paint. So between my job and learning to paint they were both quite a challenge. But anything that is a challenge usually is worth it. So when I started a business it seemed natural to combine the two.

2. How long have you been on Etsy?
Brand new since April 2010

3. What type of items do you offer?
I hand paint everyday and seasonal designs on framed fiberglass black screen with acrylic paint. It has a flair of folk art, primitive, and whimsy. I also paint ornaments , magnets, and any surface that looks interesting to me.

4. How long have you been crafting?
I have been painting for about 14 years. My husband was in the Air force and was deployed overseas so I took an acrylic painting class at a local craft store and loved it!

5. Who or What inspires you?
Many artists of the painting world inspire me, fun whimsical patterns and COLORS!

6. What is your favorite item in your shop and why?

Kitchen Cabinet Panels-Custom Work

Good Friday morning blogging friends! I hope you all have had a wonderful week so far! Today I wanted to show you the Kitchen Cabinet Panels that I painted for one of my customers in Florida. Sandra sent me the panels along with the dimensions for the framing that fits the outside of the Cabinets, and here is what I painted for her. A wonderful country/primitive setting.

Chenille Snowman With Cardinals

It's a cold rainy blustery fall day here in Washington state this morning. And as I sit here drinking my coffee and watching the weather report I was thinking about snow! I know some of you already have some, wish we did! I LOVE snow! Anyhow I thought I'd show you my Chenille Snowman that I've made.

He's featured in the November issue of Country Sampler magazine (pg 62 in a room setting & 187 with my company info). This little guy is made of Chenille fabric. He's stuffed and weighted at the bottom so he stands firmly. This particular one I have antiqued the fabric with tea, vanilla & cinnamon. He's been sprinkled generously with Mica Glitter. His eyes, and buttons are peppercorns, his nose is made of wood and hand carved. He has rosy pink cheeks. He's wearing a red fleece scarf around his neck. In his left hand he holds a birdhouse on a post. The right hand he's holding some twig sprigs with red cardinals perched on the branches. I've also attached a black felt hat to his head, which has a birds nest, and cardinal sitting in the nest. There is snow (snow tex) on many of the twig branches, his nose, & his hat & the birdhouse.
What's great about this snowman, is you can get him without the antiquing, glitter, and scent, and you may also choose your birdhouse color. And, you won't find him anywhere else but here! I'm Back!

Hello Blogging Friends! Hey I'm back! I've been gone for about a month rebuilding my website. www.adorablecountryclassics.com All I can say, is that I wish that on no one! It took me a full month to transfer all my products over and get things up and running. But, I am glad that I did it, because it will make surfing my website faster and easier for my customers. It looks more professional too! Any way, I'm going to be having a sale soon, to celebrate the new site, and will post it here to let you know it's going on. It feels so good to be back, I miss everyone!
Right now I'm working on a Ceramic Utensil Holder, then I'm moving on to a custom order for a customer in Florida. I've been asked to paint to Cabinet Panels for her kitchen. Ok, so by now you are probably wondering what in the world happened to me.........Why I haven't blogged, done my Market Place Monday, nor a Whatcha Workin On Wednesday! No, No, nothing is wrong, as a matter of fact everything is great and it couldn't be better! There are a couple reasons why I haven't posted, and will explain.

In my last post dated September 5th, I spoke about the OFG Halloween Celebration. That is under way on Etsy right now, and runs until September 30th. I've been busy with our group commenting on the members blogs, making treasuries when I can, and trying to keep up with the happenings around our group. A Primitive Fall Cutting Board inspired by Terrye French. I just love her designs! The other is this old bucket that I've turned into a Primitive Fall Floral a OOAK. It turned out just beautiful! I had so much fun designing both of these pieces.

Speaking of Terrye French..................I'm getting ready to embark on a new journey with her, and will be joining the "Painting With Friends" group! I'm very excited about this, because I love her work, and I think it will be a ton of fun! I will be offering my patterns on my blog for sale as well as my website, Terrye's website, Ebay, and the "Painting With Friends" blog. I'll give ya the heads up when I complete my first design.

We're getting ready to turn a new leaf here at Adorable Country Classics. In a few weeks you will see a slight change in the look of my website. I will still be carrying the great products I have now, and will be adding a whole lot more as soon as the website work is complete. In this change, it will be easier to navigate my website, and that makes happy customers.

I've also been really busy filling orders as well. So it's been pretty busy around here, and my time has been limited, therefore my blog has kind of suffered, and I'm sorry about that. Primitive Ceramic Canisters

Hello everyone! Hope you all had a good week! My weeks been good too! I've been pretty busy around here. Finished painting my first set of New Primitive Ceramic Canisters! And they are awesome! You will love these! They turned out sooooooo cute! They've been painted a crackled trail tan over black, and each one has its own scene, primitive star edges, and painted lids with twiggy vine, leaves, and red & mustard pip berries. Each one has its own saying "Live Well", "Laugh Often", "Love Much", "Live Simply". They've been antiqued and distressed for that nice prim look. I offer alot of customization on these, so they can be painted to match your existing decor. I'm also offering these as a set of 3 or 4. They have been glazed on the inside and are food safe! The lids have silicone rubber seals to keep food fresh! I'm already painting matching kitchen accessories to go with these & another Ceramic Canister Set so stay tuned for those! She's going on 8 months old now. Has two bottom front teeth in, and has went from learning to crawl to pulling herself up and standing. She's also been trying to talk, and has lots of giggles in her. Hello Blogging Friends! Are you looking for Primitive Canisters? Well look no more! We offer a Vintage Set made of wood, and also offer Ceramic ones in two different styles. I'm in the process of painting my first set of ceramic ones right now, which will be added to the blog and site soon. These Primitive Canisters are designed & made by us, and made out of wood. Each one has been painted a crackled Trail Tan over Black, with their own scene on each one. The outer edges of the lids have been routered & are very stylish & vintage looking. I offer several knob styles for these. They have removable plastic liners, and the lids have a silicone seal to keep food fresh. I offer these as a set of 3 or 4. Good morning friends! Ok, so I want to know whatcha workin on today?
Today I'm working on filling orders. I'm painting one of my Primitive Bread Boxes for a customer in PA. This is the Bread Box I'm making. Whatcha Working On Wednesday?

I'm sure many of you are extremely busy this time of year, I know I am. Most of you are gearing up for the holidays. I'm not there yet! lol So I'd love to hear what your working on today. Are you working on everyday items or holiday stuff? Fill me in! :)

Today I'm working getting my last order of Primitive Canisters, and a Primitive Utensil Holder packaged up and ready for shipment. I'm also working on filling another order of my Primitive Canisters, and my Primitive Roll Up Door Primitive Bread Box.

I received my first order of Ceramics today, the ones you've seen on my website under the Primitive Category & Hand Painted By Me. I'm so excited about this because they are going to turn out really nice, and my customers will love them! I'm going to be making complete kitchen sets. Some will be designs by other artists, but I'm also going to be designing a few of my own complete sets! I can't wait to start painting them! :)

What's Been Going On?

Hello Blogging Friends! Wow it's been really busy around here! Many of you are probably wondering why I haven't added any new paintings or other products to the site lately. I've had to get some paperwork and running around done to get my son into a Technical College this September. I've also been working on some technical issues with the site and the blog. The Blog issue has been fixed, and we are still working on the site stuff. We may be changing the way the website looks as well, but not sure on that yet. Were getting ready to expand and the technical issues need to be addressed before the expansion. Which brings me to the next subject.

I've asked questions about what kinds of products you like, and what you would like to see more of. So, I've also been researching Home Decor products. I wanted to find nice, high quality, affordable products that I think you will love! And I have found them! There will be several new styles and themes added to the site, soon. I will keep you updated as to when we will add them.

I'm still going to be offering my hand painted items as well. In fact I'm working on several new designs right now. I'm going to be painting several different designs/themes. I'm very excited about the expansion and new styles & themes we will be adding. These products are beautiful and will make wonderful additions to your home decor.

So I hope you will be patient and come visit us often, to see the major changes were going to make, and to view our new product lines.

Hello Blogging Friends! I hope you all had a wonderful and safe Fourth Of July! We went downtown to the water front here in Port Orchard, WA to watch the fireworks show, and wouldn't you know it, it started raining! We ended up back home and watching the Seattle fireworks show on television instead, and it was a better show anyway!

I'm starting a new post every wednesday on my blog called "Whatcha Workin On Wednesday". I thought it would be interesting to see what other are working on. I always love to see creations that other people make, and it inspires me to create as well.
Im working on a painting designed by Terrye French. It's a design of hers that I've wanted to do for a while now. I'm going to be modifying her design a bit by adding a few more of her favorite things. I hope to add it to the site & blog very soon!

It's painted in a crackled trail tan over black. The clock is divided up into sections with Twiggy Vines, Leaves, Red & Mustard Pip Berries. Each section has a different Primitive Theme. The top and bottom are painted black. The sides have three black prim stars with a primitive sheep over the middle star. There is a hanger attached in case you would like to hang it. This piece has been distressed and antiqued. It will come fully assembled.

Hello Blogging Friends! Happy Monday! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I just wanted to touch base with you to let you know what new products I'm working on now, and what you can expect to see soon. Many of you have asked me to paint more Terrye French Designs. So Im working on several things right now, that will be designed with Terrye Frenches favorit things. I will add them to the site and blog when their finished. I'm going to be concentrating on her designs for a while because of the many requests I've had. So I invite you to check back to see what new creations I've added.

Over the weekend I added alot of new products by Victorian Heart Co. For the most part, they are Americana Decor. Americana Placemats, Americana Table Runners, Americana Curtains & Americana Bedding. Here are a couple of sample photos. This is a "Stars Of America Quilted Placemat". It is a very popular country style pattern featuring a color scheme of Red, White and Blue with Appliqued Stars. They look very primitive. I offer matching Napkins, Table Runners, Towels, and even an Apron. These are perfect for your Fourth Of July Celebration, and are great for sprucing up a room and giving it that extra pop of color & style.

Here is a sample of a Primitive Americana Table Runner, that you can also find in the store. These are called "Patriotic Patch" The Patriotic Patch is Primitive & Patriotic. It features a patchwork of cotton prints in barn red, deep navy, and dark tan tea-dyed fabric. Both of these products are machine washable. Primitive Bread Box #3 Hand Painted

Hello Blogging Friends! Here is my new Primitive Bread Box I've finished this week, and a description of how I've painted it. This Primitive Bread Box has been painted black in a distressed manner. The edges have been sanded for a time worn look. This has been sanded and is very soft and smooth. I've painted the insert on the front with a rustic red saltbox house nestled on a grassy hill with some sheep, two willow trees & and an American flag. I've painted the words "Simple Keepings" above the design. The door of the Bread Box has been designed with twiggy vines, leaves, red & white pip berries, & black primitive stars. I've attached a vintage looking knob that has an engraved leaf pattern on it. The sides have two sheep standing on a grassy hill with a willow tree at the bottom. The top has twiggy vines, leaves & red & white pip berries. The very top of the Bread Box has the words "Simple Keepings" and two Primitive Stars. The inside is painted black. The insert is interchangeable so you can display different paintings throughout the year. Rubber feet are attached to bottom to prevent sliding. This Primitive Bread Box will hold 2 long loaves of bread plus dinner rolls! It measures 12" Tall x 16" Wide x 10" Deep at the bottom. A little narrower at the top. It is made of wood. You can have this painted in any way you like for the same price-tell me what you would like in the (Customized By You ) box. This is a photo of the insert out. I wanted to show you this so you can see that it can come out and be turned over so you can display another painting on the other side. This is so cool because you can have me paint a different painting, one for each season! Wouldn't that be neat! You wouldn't have to stare at the same old painting every day! Primitive Willow & Sheep Lamp & Primitive Prints

Good Morning Blogging Friends! It's a cloudy dreary day here in Washington! Good thing I'm staying in and painting! Over the weekend I added alot of new items to my website. I added some Framed Prints, Wood Accent Pieces, Welcome Arrows, & a couple of Misc. Items. So if you haven't been to the website lately you may want to go check it out. Today I wanted to show you a couple of items that I have on my site that I think are really nice items. First this new Primitive Lamp.

This new Primitive Lamp will add the perfect touch to your Primitive Home. It measures 16" Tall to top of shade. Base measures 6 3/4" Wide x 5 1/4" Tall x 4" Deep. Shade is included and measures 4" x 10" x 8" and uses a standard size light bulb. The lamp has an On/Off switch on cord. This comes in a Rustic Brown. This is very rustic looking, and a very nice lamp.
